Description

This riveting sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller picks up where It Ends with Us concluded and shares what happens next for Lily and Atlas.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, New York Times bestselling author ) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).

Wow! When I first watched ‘It Ends With Us’, I was completely taken back, realizing that I liked the movie. But when I read the book i immediately fell in love with it. Then I found the book ‘It Starts With Us’ and as excited as I was to read how much love was between Atlas and Lily, I realized that this book wasn’t really just meant to finish out how brave Lily became and finally ended up with Atlas, but this book wasn’t really focused on the love between two brothers that were treated horribly by their mother. Coming together to begin a new cycle of family love that neither of them had ever experienced. As much as I loved the first book and the strength it took Lily to with her daughter to make sure that a vicious cycle stopped, this book was filled with so much more. Lilies continued fight in learning to stand up for herself but also protecting her daughter from seeing what a monster her father could be when they were alone, to Lily starting her new life with Atlas while still getting her abuser help for the sake of her daughter. And it was ending another vicious cycle stopping a self absorbed abusive mother from trying to ruin a child who was never feeling love. This book had me tearing the entire time looking back and looking at my own life and how I have managed the same of what perspires. It was just an amazing book. I believe better than the first one. How Atlas experienced two loves in his life when he grew up with none. Loving Josh immediately was presented beautifully. And to read Atlas getting to be with Lily was wonderful. It just goes to show you that blood isn’t always the thickest.

I need to know their story. We need more. When I read you I feel like I’m in the story. It becomes so surreal to me.
