Description

The “immersive and imaginative“ (USA TODAY) games continue in the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestseller LEGENDARY, the mesmerizing sequel to CARAVAL

Donatella and Scarlett Dragna escaped their cruel father and made it out of Caraval alive, but the games aren’t over yet. What Scarlett doesn’t know is that, in order to gain their freedom, Tella made a deal with a mysterious stranger and now it’s time to pay.

Except what Tella owes is something that no one has ever been able to deliver: the true name of Caraval Master Legend. Tella’s only chance at uncovering Legend’s true identity is to enter the dangerous game of Caraval once more, and win. But what will she have to sacrifice to do that?

Don’t miss FINALE, the stunning conclusion to the Caraval trilogy—out now!

I just finished Legendary ! And let me tell you there were a world of twists in this book. The reason why I love the Caraval series by @stephanie_garber so much is because you never know what awaits you at every page turn! We learned some secrets in this book that for the sake of not spoiling the book for you, I won’t say. But they had me with my jaw dropped in the last ten chapters of the book. I also liked that this book was a little more invested in Tella, since we rarely saw her in Caraval. But even though we do see more of Tella, the book is definitely focused on Dante, Jacks (I was excited that I saw him in this series cause I only saw him in the UOABH series) and of course Paloma, Tella and Scarletts mother. Overall for me this was a 4/5 ⭐️ for me ! 🤍

This was the best out of all three books and loved the romance between Tella and Dante. But I we really did not see a lot of what was going on with scarlet it was still good.I loved Jacks but I hated when he came and try to basically steal Tella away from Dante but I still felt bad for him but he is better with Evangeline and Dante and Tella were amazing together. Tella and Dante are my All time favorite ship for any book. I wish there was another book after finale about Tella and scarlet. ❤️

Another amazing book in the series! Loved how this one had a little more steamy romance lol. I usually am able to predict endings but Stephanie makes it hard to see what’s coming!!

I didn’t care much for Tella in Caraval so I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book quite as much. She won me over, though, and this continuation of the story was hard to put down. Like Caraval, Legendary is imaginative and romantic and full of intrigue. It is also beautifully written.
  • Tella is my sister

Tella is exactly my sister. Lol. I’m kinda Scarlett. I like that it’s not just a fake romance where the characters are obviously written only to fall for each other, they take their time getting together and establishing a relationship first. Then the plot is interesting. The Fates thing was not where I was expecting it to go but it was still really good. I love this series. Definitely a good quick read.

So the first book was decent, despite the only real descriptions being of hot guys and some cool effects every so often (outside of pretty dresses). Now it’s all back and worse! Every guy the characters meet is the “hottest man they have ever seen” whose every facial expression is fantastical and mesmerizing. It’s like reading a book by a guy where he talks about every girl having large boobs and a lilting laugh that twists their heart with its birdsong. All pretty words but still shallow and covering up poor writing falling well short of actually creating an interesting world from a promising concept. Building off of her inability to create interesting characters with depth (see: main characters are “beautiful and blonde” where all one does is a stereotypical worrier and the other is every tomboy trope wrapped into one), the only thing she can actually describe are dresses. If I was someone who studied fashion I would love this, but since I’m not it just gets boring. It makes the author appear to be a boy obsessed girl with a dress fetish. Don’t even get me started on her word choice. Every. Single. Description. Is over the top. If you actually ripped unnecessary descriptors out (because dear god it’s tiring) the book would be half its length. Don’t replace having no idea what to write or how to create an interesting world with banal adjectives that do nothing but create useless noise. If I wanted this kind of writing I would have read Twilight it any other shallow writing that tries so hard to be a movie/tv show without actually pushing itself to be more than the hormonal fantasies of an adolescent teenage girl with no world view.
