Theseus was one of the best loved heroes of ancient Greece. He was the son of king Aegeus and princess Aethra. On his way to meet his father in Athens, he managed to clear the road of all the thieves and bandits along the way. Then - before becoming the king of Athens - he freed the Athenians from a terrible burden. He accomplished remarkable deeds and as king he took many important decisions for the future of Athens.
