Book 1: A Knight's Virtue
13th Century - Widowed knight Alexander Breton had gone crusading to retreat from sorrow. Indeed, he was to take monastic vows after fulfilling a solemn promise to hide the mystical Mandylion away from those who would defile it. But fate decreed he would find and rescue the brave and lovely Lucy Kendal during his quest - a poor novice whose mishap on the road deemed that he intervene and fall in love, in spite of his past and his holy vow.

Book 2: Swindler's Daughter
Dorothea Bright, a beautiful but  prim and coddled young lady leaves her quiet Oxford home in 1883 to live in London with her estranged father, an esteemed antiquities collector. Little does she know Alastair Bright is a swindler and a fraud who cheated the wrong man, archaeologist Jack Temple. Jack knows Alastair Bright intends nothing good if he finds the Mandylion first. It becomes Jack's mission to take Dorrie on a quest to find the sacred cloth - hidden away by a 13th Century monk - before Alastair does.. 

Book 3: Ready Magic
Scientist Samuel Temple is emotionally scarred by his recent captivity in Sudan, but he accepts a wager from his brother, Jack,  in 1886 to prove that the ghostly apparitions at Ravenwell Cottage are somehow faked. He meets the inn's alluring proprietress Lilly Tearwater, but doesn't realize she has the ability to make things happen - all kinds of things. Magical things. Including the appearance of ghosts. And when Lilly begins to heal him, Samuel realizes he might not be ready to collect on Jack's wager at all.
