This is the story of the eighteen-year-old Alan Donnel and his twin brother Steve. Alan is a spaceman who serves on his father’s ship, Starman’s Quest. The spaceship was assigned to go to another planet, on a journey of nine years. But, when the ship was preparing to leave on a trip to Alpha Centaury, he left the ship, and Steve jumped on it. Alan stayed alone on the Earth, which was a bewildered and utterly hostile place, and in order to survive he had to play a ruthless game.
The journey did last nine years, but due to the Fitzgerald Contraction, to the men on the spaceship it seems as six weeks. When they return to the Earth, all the people are older and things are changed. Now, the twins look different. When the ship returns to Earth, Alan starts his search for Steve. It is Alan’s first time in an Earther city and he is amazed by the way it looks. Appearing in his spacer outfit and ignorant of the culture, living long time out of the civilization, Alan brings unwanted attention from the people and the Police. He is saved by a gambler named Max, who protects him and helps him to find Steve.
Will Alan find Steve? How does Steve look now? What will happen next? … It is up to you to find out.
