Home / Le Morte d’Arthur
Le Morte d'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory is one of the most famous works in English literature, and it’s often considered the definitive account of the Arthurian legends. Published in 1485, it was written during the late medieval period, and it is a compilation and reinterpretation of earlier tales about King Arthur, his knights, and the Round Table. The title itself, which means "The Death of Arthur" in Old French, hints at the tragic ending of the story, but the work as a whole covers a much broader narrative.
