Weston’s story is one that had to be told. Couldn’t put it down. I am so sorry you had to live through that, and I am so elated you have prospered beyond what most people could. He is a hero in his own right

Weston is a wonderful gifted writer. In his writing you can feel the love for his siblings, the hurt in his voice, the anguish he felt from the abuse and brainwashing he and his siblings endured growing up. I think the biggest disappointment however is when his parents disowned him and refused him access to his siblings. I’m so proud of the man he has become. His story I pray will help others.
Read it.

So incredibly engaging. This personal storing is shared with the most balanced perspective I’ve ever witnessed and makes me want to reflect with more kindness on my own experiences.

Banned is a moving and thought-provoking account of resilience, self-discovery, and the pursuit of authenticity. Weston Brown shares his journey of growing up in a strict evangelical household while grappling with his own identity
From the very first page Weston captures the reader with his vivid storytelling and raw honesty. He delves into the tensions of navigating a world where his faith and family values seemed irreconcilable with his inner truth. The narrative is both heartbreaking and inspiring as it exposes the emotional toll of being made to feel "other" in one's own life. While also celebrating the resilience it takes to overcome these challenges.
Weston doesn't shy away from exploring the complexities of faith, family, and love. His reflections on forgiveness and healing, provide a powerful message of hope for anyone who has ever felt silenced or marginalized.
The book is not just a personal story; it’s a call to action for greater acceptance and compassion. It highlights the importance of challenging harmful ideologies while also emphasizing the power of acceptance and personal growth.
Banned is a must-read for anyone who values authenticity, empathy, and courage.
Highly recommended for readers of memoirs, LGBTQ+ stories, and anyone interested in the intersection of faith and identity.

I could barely put this down, I felt like the writer was talking to me. It provided me with insight to the ultra conservative religious groups that I knew nothing about. I hope that his siblings will one day read this and reach out to him when they become adults.
