Description

Mitch Rapp faces an Iranian foe bent on destabilizing the Middle East in the newest thriller from Vince Flynn’s #1 New York Times bestselling series that answers the question Vince Flynn fans have been asking for thirteen years: what role did Mitch Rapp play in the operation to Capture or Kill Osama bin Laden?

April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

But with the help of one man, he just might.

In Washington, DC, CIA director Irene Kennedy briefs the president that the operational window to kill or capture Osama bin Laden at his recently discovered compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan is rapidly closing. But before he’ll authorize a commando raid on Pakistani soil, the president demands irrefutable proof of bin Laden’s presence.

Proof he trusts just one man to provide.

Preventing a looming war in the Middle East while delivering justice for the nearly 3,000 Americans killed on 9/11 would be a big ask for anyone.

Mitch Rapp isn’t just anyone.

  • Pretty weak effort

This book really highlights what an amazing job Mills did with the storyline after Flynn passed. Unfortunately the newest author is simply not in the same league. Long winded read that constantly described Rapp’s character as being super human became tiresome early on. It never ended, and with a dull plot that lazily tacked onto the Bin Laden raid, it was just a weak effort. This book was also absolutely riddled with typos. That’s not something that should be expected with a full priced book. Did anyone even proofread this thing before releasing it?

Every situation seem to require a lengthy explanation of every move. Definitely different style of writing from Mr. Flynn. This one rated probably at the bottom of the Mitch Rapp books.
  • Disappointing

I eagerly await each new book I’m the series but this was a major disappointment. Too many obscure abbreviations left me feeling like the author was trying to impress his readers. But it was the return of Mike Nash and Stan Hurley that really turned me off. It wasn’t true to the storyline that preceded this edition.

Fantastic job! I started reading the series early in the year have enjoyed every single one. Can’t wait for the next one. Ugh now I have to start reading something else. I got a Michael Connelly book and a new 6:20 man. Think I’m going to check out the Gray man series now. (I’m caught up on everything.)Too many books not enough time for them all.

I have enjoyed the Rapp series but this one was sub par. Very average in building anticipation and excitement while reading. I finished it but I can’t highly recommend it.

A bit too detail oriented and slow ….not like Vince would have written it.

It’s was great to have the old Rapp back. Really enjoyed this book and the throwback to the Vince Flynn era.
