  • Don’t get where all the negativity is coming from…

    By WS5915
Granted I’m only halfway through the book at this point, I think it’s a great book. Honestly maybe even my favorite in the series so far. I have zero issues with the changing viewpoints. For me it moves things along. I have never been a huge fan of Szeth’s character but I’m enjoying his back story and this whole arc of his story. I don’t think the homosexuality in the story is egregious or heavy handed at all by where I’m at in the book. Maybe it gets more prominent later but it’s still only a very small portion of the story and doesn’t take anything away from the book for me. People need to grow up. I can’t wait to get to the end and although I’m not much of a re-reader I might give this one a second go around. Will update my review when finished.

It is one thing to add homosexuality into the author's world. But to include women claiming to be men & vice versa is really really bad!! For me this book has almost ruined the whole cosmere and gave this book a 2* rating. Hopefully he doesnt do this again in his next book
  • Might Be My Favorite Book In The Series

Somehow, a 1,330 page book felt like a, relatively, very quick read. Once again Sanderson’s character writing is incredible I do feel like this book could of used more editing but it’s almost entirely in the beginning The themes are way too heavy handed Certain things felt like pandering and crammed in My score is still 4/5 because of how little those negatives affect this book’s overall quality

It was an awesome read. It was long, I must admit, but I do not know how anybody could hate on this book. Extremely satisfying to finish.
  • Good read but long

I absolutely adore this series, but I must admit, this book was a bit more challenging to read compared to the others. I absolutely adore the character development of Adolin and Shallan. However, the most significant issue I had with the book was the short sections on each character’s POV stories. It felt like I was abruptly shifted to a different character’s perspective as soon as I got into one. I believe this was due to the 10-day storyline. I did enjoy the book’s ending and found the Adolin storyline particularly captivating.
  • Done at chapter 30

After the 3rd or 4th consecutive chapter of woke garbage being shoved in my face , I quit.
  • Best in the series so far!

This is my favorite book in the series so far. The only complaint I have is that Shallan is in it. But at least Sanderson found a way to stop her from ruining Adolin’s storyline too.
  • A rambling mess.

Hundreds of pages to cover 10 days of time, introduce new characters and tear down favorites like Kaladin. Now the story continues through books 6-10? No. Way.
