the book was amazing kai and pae are so perfect for each other kai would die for her pae would kill for him

this book…where to start. well, i enjoyed the plot and the characters, and i liked where it was going, but at the same time i felt like i was missing things. like certain thoughts, and/or dialogue i wasn’t getting from the characters. i also don’t mind cliffhangers, but this didn’t make me feel like i need to read the second book. so, for first time i will not be finishing a series.

this book was for sure one of the best ive read all year (btw kai azer im free from now till whenever u want)

I read the whole book in 1.5 days because I couldn’t put it down. I seriously considered calling into work so I could stay home reading. I love the romance dystopian genre and this delivered on all accounts. Even though I just finished reading this, I think I’m going to start it again right now. 😅 Thank you Lauren!!

Probably would have enjoyed this book in my teens but I’m nearing 30. I know the author is young, so I do think this was a good first book for her/shows promise! Pacing was a little weird, didn’t really connect with the characters to be honest. I think it contained a lot of tropes that were overdone. The trials are meant to be life or death and really don’t create the level of suspense or intensity that they should, especially since there is downtime in between each one. I struggled to finish this book.

I’m speechless! Malakai Azer has stolen my heart. I can’t believe the best person had to die though (not spoiling). When I finished this I almost threw the book against the wall I was so upset it ended like this!

couldnt even finish the book, first off how she not noticed when she has silver hair and blue eyes as a PEASANT?? second off, i dont understand how she hates the one brother with green eyes when “kai” or wtv stands for the king too. he’s literally just like his brother?they’re both royals who represent the king and kingdom in some way. so like cmon girl?? bfr… lastly their banter…i usually like the sarcastic flirty stuff but it’s overly done and honestly cringy at times🤦🏻‍♀️ Pae could’ve been so much more but nah🤷🏻‍♀️ and lastly this is mainly the media saying it but this IS NOT enemies to lovers, more like rivals. kai never really hated her

So so so so good!!! I read the second book too and it was just as good. Waiting for the third!

I love this so much. I love the plot with this. I could feel the emotion I loved it.🖤🖤🖤🖤
