I’ve not been a fan of BDSM erotica previously, but I was curious after the 50 Shades books came out, so I decided to read this book by Ms. Kennedy. I have to say I could not turn away from this story—I had to read it from beginning to end in two nights. This author explained so much about the BDSM terms and practices and, combined with the hero’s (Dmitri’s) and heroine’s (Presley’s) inner thoughts and reasons for being “in the life” of a Dom and Submissive, I understood a lot about this kind of romance. The author’s writing style was explicit but caring, descriptive but not overly so, and in this book the BDSM lifestyle was not exploited in titillating detail. I found myself rooting for Dmitri and Presley and their honest affection for each other and their friends. It was an eye-opener of a story and I was engrossed in it from the first page to the last. Ms. Kennedy writes beautifully and excellently about the BDSM lifestyle and I recommend this book if you are curious at all about the subject matter…or are a fan of this kind of erotic romance.
