This is the eighteenth volume in the complete proceedings of the Nuremberg trial of the German major war criminals before the International Military Tribunal sitting at Nuremberg, Germany. Taken from the original court transcript this volume covers the proceedings from 2nd to 15th July, 1946 and represents an essential primary source for scholars and general readers alike. The transcripts are complete and contain the whole of the proceedings as taken from the original court documents. This volume consists of the concluding speeches by the Defence. Göring's counsel discusses his efforts for a peaceful settlement of the Polish question, the Katyn massacre, the Stalag Luft III case and the lynch law against "terror flyers". Keitel's counsel argues againsthis knowledge of Hitler's aggressive intentions and the defensive nature of the German rearmament. Kaltenbrunner's counsel disputes the scope of his position, his attitude to protective custody and concentration camps.
