The main work in this book is the 4,000-year-old Assyrian poem Epic of Izdubar, which tells the adventures of Izdubar as he travels around the land. He battles other men as well as dragons and winged bulls, consults a seer about his nightmares, sleeps with the love goddess Ishtar and a few human women, and even travels to Hell for some fun.
