Description

James Patterson returns to the genre that made him famous with a #1 New York Times bestselling teen detective novel about the mysterious Angel family...and the dark secrets they're keeping from one another.   On the night Malcolm and Maud Angel are murdered, Tandy Angel knows just three things: 1) She was the last person to see her parents alive. 2) The police have no suspects besides Tandy and her three siblings. 3) She can't trust anyone-maybe not even herself.   As Tandy sets out to clear the family name, she begins to recall flashes of experiences long buried in her vulnerable psyche. These memories shed light on her family's dark secrets, and digging deeper into her powerful parents' affairs proves to be a disturbing and dangerous game. Who knows what any of the Angels are truly capable of?

I really liked this book but I honestly think something was missing. I think it needs more twists.

  • Obnoxious narration

The book started out very captivating and I got sucked into the story very quickly. However, the narrator's constant inability to elaborate on her past experiences became obnoxious and frankly, a little exhausting. Whenever anything from the narrator's past was finally revealed it was disappointing and hardly worth all the build up. I understood that the characters were supposed to be unique, but some of their personalities just didn't make sense. The ending was a total let down and left a bunch of questions unanswered. This was the first James Patterson book I've read, and I'm considering not reading anymore.

After reading over 30 James Patterson books I was very disappointed in this one. Too fantastical, too ridiculous and definitely too improbable. The narrator's dialogue with the reader doesn't match the storyline. There are major loose ends left dangling at the end of the book as if they just stopped writing at 350 pages. I was very disappointed and sad that I'd spent precious money on purchasing this online book.

This book, if you see that the author is James Patterson, the book is sure to be beast! Take the "Maximum Ride" series, and the "Witch and Wizard" books! I knew I would love it, I did love it, and I still love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
