    Sanderson skillfully mixes fantasy world building and political intrigue. Revealing details while simultaneously leaving the reader with more questions, searching for those answers. One minor flaw is pacing, but with everything else the book brings, this flaw matters little.

    This book is the definition of world building. It does not really pick up until halfway through and even then I would not call it engrossing until the last ~300 pages. However, it made me want to read the second book. Just prepare for a slow burn through most of the read.
