Cross. Now streaming on Prime Video.

Alex Cross faces the most cunning, psychotic killer of his career in the blockbuster James Patterson novel that inspired a major motion picture.   Alex Cross was a rising star in the Washington, D. C. Police Department when an unknown shooter gunned down his wife in front of him. Alex's need for vengeance was placed on hold as he faced another huge challenge: raising his children without their mother.   Years later, Alex is making a bold move in his life. He has left the FBI and set up practice as a psychologist once again. His life with Nana Mama, Damon, Jannie, and little Alex finally feels like it's in order. He even has a chance at a new love.   Then Cross's former partner, John Sampson, calls in a favor. Now Cross must go on the hunt for the most cunning, psychotic killer he has ever faced. . . and it pushes him dangerously close to the breaking point.

This book was absolutely amazing. From the first chapter I couldn't put it down. I finished the whole book in one weekend-that shows how good it was. All the characters were truly brought to life. I didn't have any questions left over except for one--who was Ali's mom? Clearly it wasn't Maria's kid. Be that as it may, this was a definite thrilling read. I haven't read a good book like this in a while. Coming off of finishing the "Fifty Shades" series, I actually needed something with substance and I needed a storyline that actually made sense. I will say thus, read the book first before going to see the movie. If you see the movie first, you'll judge the book and think its trash because of what's portrayed on the screen. Not the case at all. Tyler Perry is utterly horrible in this film, so don't judge the series by his foolish actions. If you read this, you'll be left with wanting more.

It usually takes me several weeks to read a book. I have too many other interests. However, I read this book over a weekend. Lots of action ant to the point.

I enjoyed this book, as I expected I would. It was a bit more laid back than I had anticipated, a bit of a difference from your previous style. There were a lot of things going on, new information to file away in my mind, like an insight into his head that had never been so candid. He seemed to be so torn and troubled by addressing these issues, both to himself and to the others around him. It was a side of him that was not seen often. It was kind of helter/skelter, as life can sometimes be. It was almost like there was so much you wanted to say to the reader but only had so much space, so you could only lightly touch the particular thought or situation or circumstance. I felt something was left out. Maybe this was necessary, so as to hit on something more important involved in the story? I'm not sure what bearing these bits of insight or information would have made in the telling. Needless to say, I did enjoy the story. As far as the ending, not too sure. . . Except to say, we will be hearing from Alex again. That pleases me greatly.

Great read, with the usual Patterson twists.
