Alwyn is never quite the hero of the story, nor do you ever fully expect him to be, which makes for such an interesting viewpoint. Cannot recommend enough if you like a constant mental turmoil combined with subtle magic and combat that gives you goosebumps!A Good Book

He injects just enough humor to make it fun without detracting from the grimness required of this genre, kind of like Abercrombie does. Looking forward to the sequel.New Favorite Book
