Nice story.

I loved the beautiful and at times nail biting story of Xander and Tara. I got all the feels reading this one. Tara is an ADA. Xander is a police recruit. Xander and Tara have history. She almost prosecuted Xander two years ago but he ended up not being the bad guy. The story starts with a case where Xander and Tara need to work together with the Intelligence Unit. This puts the two of them in close proximity and starts the journey to their HEA. It was fun to watch the relationship between these two unfold while they are dodging murderous psychopaths and trying to keep a witness safe. This book has a little bit of everything, just like you would expect from a romantic suspense story - sweet moments, strong friendships, fan your face sexy times, real life issues, painful pasts, redemption, imperfect characters, dangerous high stress situations, and so much love. I am excited to read more of this series.

This is a great beginning to a new series. Xander is a little flawed but has a big heart. Tara is a strong, independent, kind of a loner until she runs into Xander for a second time at the scene of a crime. These two together are perfect for each other. It’s good in the suspense category and the ending was a heart-stopper. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for more.
