I think this book should have been listed as Young Adult. It needs significant character development to truly a 5 star book. The storyline is not bad, although it needs to be flushed out regarding the actual practices of ancient and modern Witchcraft and respective beliefs.

Welcome to White Haven. The world has changed a lot since women accused of witchcraft met their demise in centuries past. The small town has changed, too, but descendants of those witches still call the tiny town home. Among them, Avery feels a change coming and danger. When another descendant of the old families confirms that feeling, she finds herself more concerned about the impending danger. As they and their friends prepare to celebrate the solstice, more information falls into their laps. But will that information help them or hurt them?
An interesting opening book for a series about witches. New information gets presented to the reader as the characters discover it. Of course, now we have to wonder who will survive to learn enough to help save their small town.

Only one problem with this story….it leads into another book. I like my stories to have a ending. Other than that…Great story! Proves a writer can write a great book without vulgar language or over sexed scenes. I recommend this book. 2-11-2024 Camie12

The witchy characters are happy with life until the passing of a White Haven member passes away and revels the secrets she has been holding onto. The past is now catching up with the future and the truth is going to be reveled. Avery seems to be the leader of the group although she doesn’t want to be. She secretly likes Alex another witch, who has come back to make White Haven his final destination. Then there is Elspeth who can mold metal, she is friends with Reuben even though he has given up on his witch side. Briar, a healer and alone but is not as confident about her past. Last, Gil loves his craft but hides it from the person he loves the most is reluctant to be a part of the group. Together they join forces to save their beloved town. Will they win? A great series that really draws you in. You get to know each character and learn about how the past and present can often collide. Each one confident in their powers but together they are stronger.
