This book will have you laughing your head off one minute and crying your eyes out the next. I love the special bond between Desiree and Vi. Not to mention the very hot love between Vi and Andre.

I enjoyed reading this story. Somehow it just seemed a little different , but I loved it. Violet we learned about in previous Bayside stories, was sister to Desiree. When they were young there parents divorced and Violet lived with her mother or should I say traveled with her mother. They went to a lot of humanitarian places to help out. Well while on those humanitarian works, she met Andre a young doctor and artist. The two of them hit it off right away. They fell in love, but her mother Liza called and said her sister needed her. So she left Andre without even saying goodbye. He looked for her for two years but could not find her. He bumped into Liza and she offered him to come with her to Bayside and he accepted not knowing the Violet was her daughter. It took a lot of time and some heartbreak and love of friends and family but was able to put their love back together. I don’t want to be a complete spoiler but it’s not even the half I shared. A must read story.

Violet and Andre’s story of forgiveness and love conquers all is inspiring. I am in awe of the coffeehouse and all of the people there. Openness and acceptance are hallmarks of Melissa Foster’s stories! It took me a few stories to appreciate all of the reoccurring themes of selflessness and inclusiveness that occur in each story. While I truly appreciate a genuine love story, the focus of family in all her stories are heartwarming. In each story I have read, including this one, family and friends are at the forefront. Along with that is the creativity, weather it is art, music, or drama. These are people I want to call friends and hang out with. Thank you Melissa Foster for writing stories that feel real and make me wish they were.

Violet, never one for putting down roots, floats through life going from place to place. It is during one of her volunteer stints, that Violet meets Andre. If she were to ever settle down, it would be with a man like Andre. The fact that she “feels” so much for Andre, after only knowing him for a few months, scares her to death. When her mom, Lizza, tricks her into coming back home, Violet runs! Andre was forever changed when Violet wondered into his life. Working as a volunteer doctor in a third world country Andre came to realize that all the comforts and technology that he thought was important, really wasn’t. Andre loves Violet’s heart, strength, and kindness. Andre “sees” the real Violet and loves her. But a marriage proposal after knowing her a few months, sends his soul mate running. Fast forward.....Lizza arrives to Desi’s wedding with her “plus one”-Andre. Violet can’t believe the only man she’s ever loved, could be with her mother. Or is this just another ploy by a mother that Desi and Violet don’t trust? This is the first novel I’ve read in this series. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I would’ve liked to have read them in order. I felt as though I was missing a little of the back story. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. I loved how bad a**, but soft and kind-hearted Violet was. I loved the scene where Violet met Andre’s parents. Hilarious 😂. I loved how encouraging Andre was of Violet’s art. Their shared love of sculpting took me back to the movie Ghost. Violet’s journey of learning to fully open up and trust others enough to include them in her life was soo relatable. The fact that Andre didn’t try to change Vi, but encouraged her to be herself....swoon-worthy! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Wow. Such an emotional story. I think this story hit every emotion in the spectrum. And most of it was Vi's emotions. I enjoyed watching her work through her emotions and feelings. I felt Andre understood Vi better than anyone and he figured out how to get her to open up to others. Watching her go through her emotional growth and change was a great experience that I've never had in a book before. I can't wait for Justin's story. I think he's another one with a story to tell that will take us on a roller coaster ride. Kudos Ms. Foster. Job well done.

When Lizza showed up with Andre I almost put the book down. I am so glad I didn’t! Violet has a whole other side to her. She puts out such a hard vibe when really she is a genuinely nice person who uses her gift to make the lives of children better. Andre is a pediatrician who knows the real Violet. They have a painful history and you wonder if they can really work, but you can’t help but fall in love with them. The reaction from Desiree seemed a little overly dramatic to me, but the scene and the sisterly love is redeemed and you love them all over again. The friend scenes always make me smile and imagine what it is like. The love between the group is just fantastic!

I loved Violet and Andre. Not only did we get their story, but we got to meet a lot of new characters. I want a HEA for all of them, although that would probably be too much. Violet has so many dimensions to her, that having so many different friends shows her different ways to love and care for people. She does so much good, but doesn't take any credit for it. Andre loves that part of her, but he also knows when to push her to let people in. She showed him different ways to look at things, so he does the same for her. They're a great couple, and I loved the little glimpses of characters from other series in this world.

This book was so complex! I was obsessed with the character of Violet! It was interesting to see how she put up a hard exterior even to her friends, but was actually a very caring and giving person in secret. She had a pretty tumultuous childhood and that mainly explains why she acts the way she does. Before relocating back to the Cape, she had let one person really know her and get past her devices, which was Andre, but she ran away partially because of her feelings. After fate intervenes, or maybe just Violet’s mother, the two reconnect and attempt to see where things go with being honest and upfront, as both Andre and Violet have changed. I’m a huge fan of Melissa Foster’s books, and this one was no exception. Her style of writing really provides me the understanding of the characters and she always shows their growth and journey through past issues. Another great read from Melissa, and I can’t wait to see who’s next in the Bayside Summers series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
