Cole and Evangeline are the quinticential example of opposites attract. This gruff guy from "the wrong side of the tracks" has a bad attitude about Evangeline, who he thinks is a snobby princess. He couldn't be more wrong! There were times when that giant chip on Cole's shoulder was a distraction for me and my otherwise love of Mr Grumpy. But if sweet Evangeline...who was by no means a pushover...could forgive him for that attitude, them what chance did I have!? Four very different H/h stories, connected by a fallen comrade, each with a unique trope. All can be read alone, but I recommend reading them in order.

This story was exciting, suspenseful and a little sexy. Cole and Evangeline relationship is full of angst, guilt and misunderstandings which leads to a lot of really great dialog! I also liked that the underlying suspense was drawn out enough but wasn't easy enough to guess who the villian is! Great read!
