WOW! Tristan & Alex's story is filled with all human emotions. Love, military status, sexual orientation, & unbelievable devotion intertwines with friends, lovers, & family. Melissa Foster writes unbelievable books. Emotions are raw for the characters as well as the reader. I'm refraining from relaying events that occurred within the book because each event leads to an enhancing story. Best book so far! 5 STARS!!!
wonderfully plotted and developed romance for everyone

A bit of a change from what I know of Foster’s writing, this book is a male-male romance, perfect for those who are unsure about that combination in their romance. Love is love, and the combination of Tristan and Alex set out to show you that love is universal, and everything else is simply unimportant.
Tristan is recovering from yet another bad relationship, stepping away from the whole “I need someone” moments while he tries to decide why no one can love him wholeheartedly, like he does. Tristan is that guy who is there for friends and family, always, and the one you should be pleased to have in your corner.
Alex – so broken yet so in need of uncomplicated and uncompromising love, that sort of love and acceptance given without asking anything in return. A former military man, recipient of a Silver Star and recovering from injuries, he’s guilty, angry, depressed and struggling to find his next move. Most of all, he’s not sure that he can risk that instant spark he felt when meeting Tristan.
Here is where the story excels: developing the push-pull between the two, a gentle friendship that allows both men to open up and deal with their pasts. Starting simply with Alex’s gentle encouragement, he pushes Tristan to speak his desires and stand up for what he wants…something Tristan didn’t always do. For his part, Tristan is that gentle and subtle presence for Alex, allowing him the space to face his own demons knowing that no judgement will come. Two broken men who find the courage to step forward from their past and into a future, together.
Emotionally these two are struggling with being available and open to one another, but Foster reveals their insecurities and hearts so well that you can’t help but empathize. You want to see Tristan and Alex find a way through it all, to allow their palpable connection that you feel and see as a reader to become the most important thing to them both. When they do grab that chance – readers (and they) are more than ready for the fireworks, and it feels natural and logical. I wanted the best for these two, and together, living and loving, is the best. A wonderfully plotted and developed romance for everyone, and the perfect opportunity for those who have never read a male-male romance to dip their toes in.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher for purpose of honest review I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions and expectations are my own responsibility.

Handsome young man, shirtless in camo pants and dog tags, against a slate grey background. Model was enough to catch my eye, but the synopsis grabbed and pulled me in.

Alternating first-person POVs.
Kind of an insta-lust story... Yes, Tristan is partaking in a self-imposed hiatus from men after his last boyfriend was determined to be absolutely horrible to and for him. But the minute Alex walks through the door of the bar that Tristan works at, temptation rides high. A mutual insta-lust kicked in and for all the "we need to go slow", they really didn't, or couldn't. There were plenty of secondary characters and although it's plenty obvious that they had their own stories told, you feel almost compelled to backtrack in the series to read them, too. At no time does the reader feel lost or that they've missed anything vital.
There was great dialogue and cast interaction. The plot flowed smoothly, but at times felt like it was missing some element to give it more depth and dynamics. The conflicts were mostly internal struggles that they needed to face and overcome, however therapy or counseling was never an option. There was no real issues with predictability. The conclusion was good and had an implied HEA, or maybe a "Happy for Now" ending that will allow for their story to continue in the background of whichever book will be next.

Tempting Tristan

Alpha Tango... what an enlightening book. Alex and Tristan two souls lost with no thought of ever finding happiness because of their screwed up pasts. Alex, military made him hide who he really was, lived a life that the military expected. Ghosts, demons, and guilt made him weak in so many ways. Tristan, caring, loving, considerate, and mentally abused in past relationships was the perfect mate for the Army man! Tristan's friends, Brandon, Brooke, Wyatt, Charley showed how friends should embrace one another. What a great read!
Fabulous

First M/M novel and I couldn't put it down. What a fantastic story with great characters. I enjoyed rooting for both. I want my own Alex/Tristan. I loved it.

This was my first M/M book and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was very surprised by how much I fell in love with Tristan and Alex.
Alex, healing from a war injury and Tristan, healing from a bad ending to a relationship, have chemistry right away. But they are both a bit gun shy about getting together. The physical relationship is a slow burn. But when it catches fire, it's burns hot!
Alex is being honored at a military service...but he's had to hide who he was during his time in the Army. Can he be himself when he is back on a military base and most importantly, not deny his feelings for Tristan in the process?
If you love Melissa Foster's writing, grab a copy of Tempting Tristan. You won't be disappointed!
A must read book!

This is a wonderful story to continue the Harborside Nights series. I've been waiting for Tristan's story since Catching Cassidy and once again Melissa did not disappoint. This is a wonderful love story. Even if you've never read a M/M book before you need to read this one. Keep your mind and heart open. Tristan and Alex are just like any M/F couple and all they want is to love and be loved, they just happen to be men. Melissa does an amazing job of writing her characters so that you get wrapped up in their lives right along with them. When they hurt you hurt. When they fall in love you fall just as hard if not harder. Tristan and Alex are no different. Their story is emotional, thought provoking and sexy as hell. There are sex scenes but they aren't done for shock value they go with the story and the emotions and feelings that Tristan and Alex have for each other. If you are a Melissa Foster fan already or you have never read one of her books (Um, where have you been hiding?) this is a must read book!!!!
A happily-ever-after when you're not looking for it.

We get to know Tristan in the previous books in the Harborside Nights series, but really get to dig into what makes him tick in his story. Tristan is a sensitive man who isn't looking for his happily-ever-after when he walks into the bar. He's confident in his sexuality and his feelings for Alex, but struggles with how Alex is dealing with his transition to civilian life.
I love Alex. He's also confident in his sexuality but struggles with how to act in an environment where it is not frowned upon. He isn't ashamed of his relationship with Tristan, but he can't change the behaviors that have been drilled into him for his entire military career. He fits well into Tristan's circle of friends and accepts that he isn't going to change his relationship with them because Alex is now part of his life.
I love how the two of them work together to establish Alex's life in Harborside and adjust to his grandmother's death. The one struggle I had is that I felt like their relationship didn't hit many speed bumps. Other than Alex's behavior with Tristan while in a military environment, their relationship was pretty smooth sailing the entire time. I wish there would have been a bit more that they needed to struggle through on the way to their happily-ever-after. But all in all, a great love story with a happily-ever-after, showing a realistic depiction of a gay couple dealing with real-life struggles of how the world accepts them.
