  • Did Patterson forget his own stories?

As an avid Alex Cross fan, I have read every book in the series. Did Patterson forget the events that occurred in "Cat and Mouse?" In that book, Soneji kills his wife. We also find out that he has a daughter who's life he spares. We learned that Soneji is not his real name but a name he has given himself. Why then, in this book, do we read that his widow lives in New Jersey with his son, Dylan? Why does Cross go to New Jersey to talk with Gary's father, Mr. Soneji? Did James Patterson forget the story he has already written, or did another author who hasn't read all the books write "Cross Kill?" It really makes you wonder. Does Patterson think his readers are that stupid? I am highly disappointed!

This was included for "free" with Cross Justice. Evidently he wants to sell it as a stand alone story for $3.99. Alex Cross stumbles blindly from one crisis to the next, acting totally out of character. The book ends with no resolution, a strong indication that this improbable story is being serialized. Stephen King did the same thing years ago (Sold bits and pieces of a story, charging dearly for every piece that never led to a resolution.) which lead me stop buying his books. I guess I'll have to do the same with Patterson. Poor writing; blatant commercialization. Not a good combination.

I have read all pattersons books on Alex cross. This one came to an abrupt ending. If you do not know "Triple Threat" is same book.

I have purchased almost ever book Patterson has written. This “ending” was a waste.

Supremely suckered. Threw away money, after reading the same at the end of a Patterson novel, thought I was buying the full story, a novella perhaps but the full story. Author and publisher shame on you from full paying readers.

Abrupt ending. Good twists but is overly apparent that Patterson left the reader hanging so there could be another book. Just too blatantly obvious.

The book would have gotten five stars had it not ended the way it did. Very unhappy with how these bookshots are ending.

Book stopped on page 189 was supposed to go to 220. What happened. I was left hanging.

I've read lots of James Patterson books and enjoyed them but he must have done this just for the Bucks. Not even a real book. Terrible work, total disappointment. No more bucks from me!
