Description

The Remingtons are a series of stand-alone romances that may also be enjoyed as part of the larger Love in Bloom series.

TOUCHED BY LOVE is a USA TODAY Bestseller

Fiercely independent Janie Jansen has always believed there were worse things in life than being blind, and she’s spent her life proving it. She’s moved away from her overprotective parents, built a life in New York City, and is one of the top technical editors in her company. That is, until an unfortunate accident turns her life upside down and she’s forced to give up the very independence she’s worked so hard to achieve.

Firefighter Boyd Hudson pushed past his tragic past and is weeks away from accomplishing his ultimate dream—being accepted into medical school. His intense focus on his goal while working three jobs has taken its toll. With a trail of failed relationships behind him, Boyd is painstakingly aware of his limitations and avoids girlfriends completely—a difficult task given his attraction to one of his co-workers.

When Boyd comes to Janie’s rescue, she’s forced to accept his help, and Janie discovers there’s more to the sexy-sounding office flirt than one-liners. Their connection deepens as Janie heals, but it turns out that Janie isn’t the only one who needs healing. Boyd’s painful past comes back to haunt him, threatening their relationship and forcing Boyd to reevaluate everything he knows about himself.

Audio version LOVED IT! Absolutely wonderful story The Heroine is such a strong person, considering she is blind. I am so glad that Melissa made her this strong and not a wimp that is scared of her own shadow. She is absolutely perfect for Boyd, who happens to be a hot fireman. . Great job AGAIN Melissa..

Funny how life is. My mother in law has something similar with her sight. You never really think about people not being able to see the thing we take for granted daily. This book was really enjoyable. Boyd.... Hmm..smh... All kinds of HOTNESS 😜. Janie just as lovable. Loved this story, thanks..

A beautiful love story that wasn't all words of love but the ability to feel, touch, & sense the true meaning of finding your soulmate. The book was written so the reader could experience the same sensations as the characters in the novel. I found it difficult put down once I started to read it. Great writing on a difficult subject & finding true love!

Melissa Foster has always delivered fantastic characters in her books but Boyd and Janie are extraordinary. While they are strong people we don't realize just how strong and independent they both are as they overcome obstacles in this beautiful relationship. As their story unfolds we see how their individual pasts have molded them into the people they are today. I don't want to spoil a bit of this plot for you so I will only summarize to say that Janie has taken a fall in the subway and panics as she calls out for help. I felt tense as I continued reading about her dilemma until coworker Boyd realizes he has walked away with her phone and needs to return to the subway discovering that Janie has been injured. As Boyd helps her recover, their feelings grow for one another. This is a beautiful story of two people who find each other somewhat unexpectedly. Melissa weaves magic in this book as various characters become part of the story. I give this book 10 stars hope it touches your heart as much as it touched mine. Kudos to Melissa Foster.
  • Best book of Melissa's!! Emotional HEA!

Wow! If any book proved how excellent Melissa's writing is, this one is it! To write so perfectly about living your life slowly going blind without experiencing it yourself is amazing. Janie suffers from a degenerative eye disease that has slowly taken her sight. She is the most amazing, tough, independent woman I could ever imagine. She has taken steps to move away from her overprotective family and out on her own but while minimizing risks to her well being. Boyd has both emotional and physical scars from a tragedy that happened in his childhood. He has had trouble moving past this and letting people in to see the "real" him. Janie is injured but doesn't want to accept help but Boyd insists. This story is wonderful! A journey of two individuals with their own baggage & issues as they learn to let each other in and find a path to happiness. This has become my favorite Melissa Foster book! It pulls you in from the very beginning and keeps you enthralled until the very end. Loved it!!

If you are a fan of Melissa Foster's you do not want to miss this book!! My boyfriend Du jour was Boyd. Wow... he took my breath away!!! The story of Janie and Boyd was beautiful. Janie, a blind technical writer, and Boyd, a paramedic who wants to go to medical school was captivating. I did not want to put the book down (sleep is overrated anyway) Janie cherished her independence while Boyd tried so hard not to stomp on her independence even when she was injured. Janie, in turn helped Boyd overcome some deep scars that affected his own mindset. The book took some unexpected turns. However, all turned out well in the end.. with a wonderful HEA!!! Why no voting buttons? We don't let customers vote on their own reviews, so the voting buttons appear only when you look at reviews submitted by others. *** You can start with Book 1 in the series or start with Book 6.. but I bet once you read book 6.. you will WANT to read book 1!!!!***
  • Wonderfully emotional, heart-tugging, sexy

4 1/2 stars. Touched by Love is the long-awaited next book in The Remingtons series from Melissa Foster, and she does not disappoint. The characters in Touched by Love are special, and their struggles are more intense than many of the characters I've read from Ms. Foster. Janie's blindness is well depicted and as I read her scenes, I felt myself using my other senses to "see" what she is seeing in the way that she was seeing it: with her ears, with her nose, with her touch. And Boyd is the best and worst hero for her. He's wonderful from the very first page; so much so that you wonder what kind of struggles he could have in his life. But he has them, and they have made him his strong, driven, over-protective self. Which is perfect for Janie when she needs it, but smothering as she seeks to reassert her hard-earned independence. His protective streak and her independent nature may be their undoing, as each does what they think is best for them and the other, not respecting the very relationship they have fought so hard for. A wonderfully emotional, heart-tugging, sexy addition to The Remingtons and the entire Love in Bloom series. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
  • Fantastic Read!

This is one of my favorite by far! Boyd and Janie are amazing. Alone. Together. With their friends. Their story touched my heart. Boyd is a paramedic/firefighter/tech consultant/wanna-be doctor who meets Janie and is instantly attracted but he tries to stay away from her. Janie is a writer for the tech company and is blind. But for her it's not about her disability, it's about her independence. When Janie stays late at work one night, she and Boyd make a silly bet. When they leave the office, Janie heads to the subway and trips and falls into the subway tracks. She gets out but is injured. Boyd realized he still had Janie's phone and went to return it...sees that she's hurt and gets her to the hospital. From there they form a bond that quickly turns to love. Boyd is trying to get in to medical school and he's applied all around the country. But now that he has found Janie, how can he leave her? Janie is comfortable with her place in NY with her best friend right next door. Can he take her away from all she knows to be with him? Does Janie even want to move? Can they find their way navigating Janie's dark world with Boyd's world of sight? Melissa wrote a fantastic book about love and disabilities. Her research was thorough and thoughtful. Fantastic read!

Boyd is my new favorite Love in Bloom hero! Janie and Boyd both have obstacles to overcome in their life, but only Janie's is visible whereas Boyd's are inside. Janie is blind and fiercely independent, when her independence is derailed by a fall Boyd is there is help Janie see she can rely upon others. In helping Janie, She is able to help Boyd deal with the childhood trauma still haunting him. Janie and Boyd prove that love is about the whole person, inside and out - Boyd learns how to read Janie without being able to use her eyes and Janie learns how to help Boyd work through his internal trauma. Janie's best friend Kiki will show you the fierce love of a friendship that is truly sister of the heart. Your heart will melt when Janie "sees" Boyd for the first time and they become each other's heroes. This is my favorite Melissa Foster yet!
